The SAT consists of two main sections: Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math. There is also an optional Essay section. The exam tests critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to apply knowledge in these areas.
The SAT is scored on a scale of 400 to 1600, combining the scores from the Math and the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing sections. Each section is scored between 200 and 800. The Essay section, if taken, is scored separately.
